Fair Use Policy
Introduction
Thanks for choosing Project Placed. We’re here to support Australians who are out of work with free, expert help from our volunteer team. Because we’re a small charity with limited availability, we ask all clients to follow this Fair Use Policy. We may update this policy at any time.
Who We Help
Our free services are for people who meet the following criteria:
- You’re aged 18 or over, and
- You have the right to work in Australia.
- You live in Australia.
You must also:
- Be currently unemployed, or
- Have been stood down from your job, or
- Are working casual or part-time jobs while seeking full-time work, or
- Are a contractor looking for full-time work, or
- Have been given a redundancy notice, or
- Have resigned and are finishing up soon.
If you’re not unemployed you must check with us before making a booking to see if you are eligible. In some very limited cases you might be – but if you do not check with us first we reserve the right to either cancel the session beforehand or terminate it early when we discover that you are currently employed.
Booking and Attendance
- All bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours notice so we can offer your spot to someone else (ideally more than 24 hours).
- If you repeatedly cancel with less than 24 hours notice or don’t show up, we may refuse you future bookings.
- You must not book more than one appointment for the same service at the same time.
During periods of significantly increased demand, we may limit you to one active booking at a time – when this happens we advertise this clearly on the booking page. This means you won’t be able to make another appointment until the first one is completed. You may not bypass this by booking multiple sessions using different email addresses and/or different names – that is unfair to everyone and if you do this, we will cancel all your bookings and you may risk being blocked from our services in the future.
Using Our Services Fairly
We’re here to help as many eligible people as possible. If in our opinion, we’ve already provided you with all the support we can offer, we may not be able to accept any further bookings from you. We are not resourced or designed to be a long-term support service.
You must not:
- Use our free services if you are already employed full time,
- Use our free services if you work for a for-profit career service,
- Continue to make bookings if we have told you that we can no longer assist you,
- Use our services if you do not live in Australia or use our services outside of Australia at any time, or
- Use our services to gather information for your own commercial use, or
- Refer your clients to us without our written permission.
Bookings may be cancelled or sessions terminated by the coach if you are found to be engaging in any of the above.
What We Expect
Our team of volunteer professionals puts time and care into preparing for every session. In return, we ask that you:
- Show up on time,
- Come prepared, and
- Be open to helpful, respectful feedback.
Respectful Behaviour
We do not tolerate abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour. If this happens, our team has the right to end the session immediately and we will automatically ban you from being able to book any services with us in the future. In serious cases, we may report your behaviour to the authorities.
The above paragraph is your notice. There will be no further notice or warnings if you engage in abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour.
Recording Sessions
Recording your sessions is not allowed unless your coach gives you clear permission in advance. This includes:
- Video or audio recordings,
- Using AI tools or bots to transcribe, summarise, or take notes.
Coaches can refuse permission to record at their own discretion and may end the session if they find out it’s being recorded without consent.
Contact and Communication
Please don’t spam or harass our team, including contacting them repeatedly by email, phone call, text message or on social media. If you do, we may refuse to provide services to you and report the behaviour if necessary.
