Bookings
Bookings for our services can be made online using our website and the booking links, or by email to: bookings@projectplaced.org.au
We do not promise that a service will be available:
- To contact Project Placed users regarding any issue apart from the purpose of career advice, employment opportunities or any other associated support that is aligned with our mission and purpose.
- To contact Project Placed users to offer any services from a 3rd party company.
- For anyone under the age of 18 years old.
- For anyone that is not unemployed (see Fair Use Policy, below).
- For anyone that does not have the right to work in the Commonwealth of Australia.
- For anyone that is domiciled in North America.
- For anyone who does not meet our Fair Use Policy outlined below.
Fair Use Policy
Project Placed is a Registered Charity that provides its services free of charge to unemployed persons, and our professional coaches and administration staff all provide their services on a voluntary basis. We have limited available appointments each day and these all have a maximum attendance capacity so therefore it is important that we ensure that there is fair use of our services in order for us to help as many unemployed persons as possible.
This means:
- You must be unemployed, over the age of 18 years old, and have the right to work in the Commonwealth of Australia in order to use our free services (Eligibility Criteria). In the context of the authority we have to operate under the conditions set by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission, we consider being “stood down” from your primary employer the same thing as being unemployed, or if you are working casual or part-time jobs whilst seeking full time employment. We also consider you eligible to use our services if you have been served a notice of redundancy or have resigned from your current job even if your date of redundancy or departure is in the future.
- At our sole discretion we may accept bookings from persons who are not unemployed only if there is available booking time not being utilised by unemployed persons and in exchange for a tax-deductible donation. The only exception to this is where we specifically state that a free service is available to anyone regardless of employment status; this is usually only in relation to our free online classes (webinars).
- Bookings for our services can only be made with a minimum of 24 hours notice.
- We ask that if you need to cancel or reschedule a confirmed booking, you provide us with at least 24 hours notice if possible, so that we can make your original booking time available to other unemployed persons.
- If you provide less than 24 hours notice for a cancellation or reschedule or if you “no show” (do not turn up to a confirmed booking without letting us know beforehand) we reserve the right to refuse any further services to you.
- We reserve the right to refuse services to any person and for any reason including (but not limited to) if you do not meet the Eligibility Criteria, or where the maximum attendance capacity has been reached for a particular service, or if in our opinion we believe that our services are being unfairly taken advantage of.
- Unfairly taking advantage of our services means repeatedly booking multiple services of the same type (whether you turn up to these bookings or not) without the referral or instruction to do so from one of our professional coaching staff or when you have been told that in the opinion of our professional coaching staff we have exhausted all our available service options. It also means that if you are a representative of a for-profit career service you may not use our free services either for yourself and your own market intelligence purposes nor may you refer your clients to us without our explicit written approval in advance.
- Our professional staff are committed to helping persons who are eligible to use our services and they spend considerable time preparing for sessions, we believe that it is only fair you do the same thing. That means you should come prepared and on time to your appointment and you should be open to respectful feedback that is intended to assist you.
- We will not abide abusive or inappropriate behaviour towards any of our professional staff. Our professional staff may terminate a confirmed booking at any point during the consultation if you are abusive or acting inappropriately towards them. We reserve the right to refuse further services to you if you do this and we may report such behaviour to the appropriate authorities.
- Recording of consultations is generally prohibited. This includes video and/or audio recordings, but also includes using Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) plugins and bots to run in the background of consultations to transcribe, summarise, take notes, or in any other way record the session. Our professional staff may terminate a confirmed booking at any point if you record or transcribe a session without their knowledge and consent. Our professional staff reserve the right to refuse consent at their sole discretion.
- You must not spam any of our professional staff by repeatedly emailing them or contacting them on their private or professional social networks without proper reason associated with Project Placed’s services.
- You must not “flame” (a vitriolic or abusive message posted on the internet or sent by email) any of our professional staff. We reserve the right to refuse further services to you if you do this and we may report such behaviour to the appropriate authorities.
Support Workers, Carers, Mental Health Advocates
We are not a crisis service. If you are a Support Worker, Social Worker, Carer or Mental Health Advocate acting on behalf of your client then you must seek approval from us before making a booking on your clients’ behalf. If you do not do that then we reserve the right to refuse service to them.
We are here to support as many people in necessitous circumstances that we can and try not to turn anyone away. In the vast majority of cases we are likely to be able to assist your client, but we do not claim that our services are appropriate for everyone or that we will be able to assist your client.
We need to ensure that we match (as best as possible) your client with one of our Coaches who has the appropriate level of training to assist them. Because of the nature of how we operate we cannot promise that we will always have such a trained Coach available.
We also need to ensure that your client has consented to your approaching us and that they have consented to you being present with them during their time with us (if that is what they wish to happen). Equally, we need to give our Coaches the courtesy of knowing you will be attending in advance of the session and they reserve the right to advise us if they do not feel comfortable with that arrangement. In that case we reserve the right to reschedule the coaching session or cancel it at our discretion.
We encourage a respectful and open dialogue with consent. Please talk to us in advance and we will gladly do what we can to assist. Please use the Contact form on this website or email bookings@projectplaced.org.au
